I've noticed the past week that my mk4 front passenger side floorwell seems to be wet? Anyone have an idea what could be causing this or experienced this problem thereself :undecided:

That is one possible reason for it...
Could be the sunroof though!?

Wouldnt the roof liner be wet in that case? I dont know i dont have a sunroof

Nope, it's all to do with the drainage holes which go down the A pillar
With the sun roof all the way open you will find the front drain holes in the corners. Give the holes a prod to try and cleen them up. If you open the front doors you will find a black ruber gromit inbetween the two hinges that sticks out. If you play with this by open you will probably get a lot of crud fall out of it. If you have a air line it would be good to blow down the drin hole and try and keep the ruber gromits open to pust the rubish out. Hope that helps :)

Yeh, although I never had puddles
I only noticed that the foam beneath my carpets were soggy when I ripped out all the cream carpet to replace it with black!! That's when I read up about the sunroof. Sure enough, there was loads of crap stuck in the nipple/grommet thing (that is located near the hinge on your front doors) be careful not to disconnect the rubber nipple from the drainage pipe, it's a PITA to re-attach!!!! :lipsrsealed:
Tip: Use some garden twine or wire and feed it down the drainage pipes to clear them!
Any problems, message me on here

This is probably the rubber nipples on the inside of the door, near the door hinges. The water drains out of these from the drain holes in the corners of the sunroof.
The nipples can get clogged and need to be squeezed and cleaned so that water runs out of them.
Easiest way to check is openthe sunroof all the way and using a jug slowly poor some water down each of the srain holes. If no water comes out and it backs up in the sunroof you know you have a blockage.

Kill two birds with one stone...
1) Have a cheeky crap on a long journey, or when you're stuck in traffic,
2) Get rid of the puddle building up in your footwell!
Win win!!

Somehow the rubber grommet that connects the hosing had fell out? Went down local scrapyard yesterday out of 3 scrapyards only 1 mk4 with a sunroof  so fingers crossed the leaks fixed, helpful info thanks everyone.
-
I found that grommet to be a right biatch reattaching it to the drainage tube! :lipsrsealed: Without it attached though, yeh, the water would just run straight down into your footwell!
What I did, to ensure I didn't still have a leak, was to wedge a load of kitchen roll beneath the tube and the grommet. Check in a days time..., if the kitchen roll is bone dry, then hey presto!

Ye i know was just soaking my carpet everytime it rained nightmare! Sorted now so gota keep an eye they dont go missing again

Glad it's all sorted now mate :afro:
