Title: 1.8t gti turbo problems
Post by: Willows on 11 June 2012, 09:16
I was on my way to work and hit a big puddle and my car died. But
It started fine so thought it was ok when I was going up hill I gave it
Some beans and got to around 4.5k revs and my car just slowly lost
Power and a cloud of smoke came out of the exhaust I'm rather worried
About this and was wondering if anyone knew about this sort of problem
I think the turbo sucked up some water and not sure my brother will be
Looking at 3 when I finish work any advise would be welcome thanks.

its hard unless we know what colour the smoke is mine chucked out white big styely as if the turbo was about to blow turned out to be the MAF
answer these questions and people will be able to help:
smoke colour?
whats it liek on idle?
can you smell it running rich at normal temp?
how much coolant you got?
how much oil have you got?
