Another mk3! Whoop whoop :)
-
Yep mk3 anniversary I very very good condition interior is immaculate and everything works. Only a 8v but tbf she doesn't seem that slow when she's moving more of a cruiser than a hot hatch though.
Quick pic here
(http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr111/rich180_2008/8b1c9a27.jpg)
Will post more updates once she's been clayed, polished sealed and waxed.
Only downside is she has a horrible letter box exhaust system so anyone wanting to swap for a good condition original item let me know.
Coilovers are on way aswell lol other than that it will be oem+ all the way looking at mods you will know are there but really ha e tolook for to notice
-
Looks really tidy :afro:
-
OEM+ is the way forward :)

If it actualy stops raining I will get out and paint calumets as they are looking tired but small things do make big differences
-
Do you have a part number for those centre caps by any chance?
-
I bought them of eBay mate
-
right then shes finnaly been cleaned properly
need to get the coilovers on soon and re-paint the calipers, thinking about continuing red stripe down the doors and all red rear lights or us spec. anyways her she is the interior is just as clean just didnt bother photographing it as battery was going flat lol.

Nice looking Anniversary good to see clean standard examples are still around

Indeed, Halfords 6mm red pinstripe will do the job perfectly, as it's what I used on mine. Costs around 6 pounds for a few metres, usually found in the 'performance styling' () section. Could probably be found cheaper elsewhere but it was an impulse buy for me.
-
very tidy and a more door to boot
-
Very nice, any plans to lower it.

:afro: and it didn't cost a penny
-
I know cant fualt it was very dubious over it working tbh but was amazed at the results.
neighbours face was a picture when he saw me with a heat gun on my car
-
Did you not remove it or at least cover the paintwork? I'd be staring otherwise. Either that or you trust your heat disapation from that heater gun
-
:afro: and it didn't cost a penny
Apart from the 2000 watts of electricity.
looks good.

nope did it with it all in place doesn't require allot of heat for it to change colour tbh and there's that much wx on my paint work it would be like a candle if it ever caught fire
-
Good work on using the heat gun trick! It really helps, I did mine the other month and they are still looking nice and fresh :)

-
Appears to have been very well looked after, good find.
-
right then had some spare pennies so finnaly got the red strip sorted down the doors, and treated her to some new rear lights allong with a good wash and liberal coating of was and then sealed ready for winter.
next is the front end with joey modded lights planned laminx the fogs and indicators, got to remove rear beam soon to sort the rear bushes out aswell so going to get that powder coated red to continue the anni theme and I also have some stainless steel tank straps to go on her.

not feeling the red door strips as its not OEM
Other than that looks good
-
Car looks v smart indeed. Ever thought about Black VW badges? Look good on a dark car.
-
Looking great dude! Can't wait to see the front end changes :)
-
At mate front end has had a change of plan after picking a set of hella twin conversion.
So going to carbon wrap the covers and centre 2 bars of my grill and get a matt black badge.
-
Sounds good :)
-
well the 3m carbon wrap up today so decided to attack the outer pods of the hella headlights I have to fit later in week never wrapped anything in my life but watched loads of videos on you tube so felt quite confident.
to begin with
(http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/578600_10152233318275077_1574148034_n.jpg)
getting there slowly
(http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/12661_10152233319895077_283159770_n.jpg)
almost done inner bits of the pod where a nightmare and had to use a small patch as i cut it wrong
and all done
(http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/60681_10152234770565077_1678634920_n.jpg)
really glad i used the 3m stuff as it seems easy to work with, just got my grill and the other side to do now wish me luck lol
-
good handy work. the lamps defo need some tinting, get some lamin-x on them
-
Yeah think of ordering some lamin x later in week
-
Looking great bud, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing it all on the car :)
-
Don't laminx them. Keep em OEM to a certain degree. These are
Much better at night than the originals and be a shame to stop em doing what they're supposed to.
-
Great JB, wish I had the patience for this kind of thing!
-
cheers mate
tbh it was alot easier than i thought it would be the 3m stuff is very forgiving the main thing i found is lots of gentle heat and just taking your time to work it around the curves, got loads left now so looking at doing a few subtle bits on the interior. then I might order some more and do my roof
-
or you could split them and paint the insides (same as hella quads) they will look alot better IMHO
-
lights now fitted tried them with badgless grill but prefer the wrapped oe grill with lower half left as it was.
sorry for crap i phone pic will get better pics when shes been washed 2morro, only downside atm is im getting the mk2 kr 16v itch again
-
right then given her a quick bath and much needed wax, think shes going to be needing a good polish soon as paint work is loosing her shine even with wax on. anyway couple of better pics and a few pics of the interior bits ive done so far with the carbon wrap. few bits im not happy with and will be re-done.
anyway as always all opinions wanted and sugestions taken on board.

-
Well as some might of noticed shes no longernwith me and passednonto one of the mods. So this topic can be locked now.
Bye bye anni
-
hi mate, i know you've passed the car on but was wondering if you could explain a bit more about the 'heat gun trick' and if you could update the picture links as they are missing.
cheers much appreciated
-
Hi mate will have to have a look to seenif i still have the pics.
Bassicly carefully waft a heatgun over the black trim in the same way you would paint and it lifts the colour.
If you so a search on youtube theres loads of viseos about it?
