Title: Pirate Bay blocked
Post by: bobotheclown on 08 June 2012, 17:16
Just noticed that some of the major ISP's have started to block the Pirate Bay. If anyone still uses that site here are some ways to work around it.

That's old news, the high court ruling was 30th April.

As tshirt2k says, there are plenty of alternative file sharing sites to use if you wish.

Depends if they're just blocking via IP or using other methods.

If anyone is currently unable to access ThePirateBay.org (the original domain) can you do me a few tests?

goto https://thepiratebay.se
goto http://thepiratebay.se
goto https://194.71.107.15
goto http://194.71.107.15
goto https://%74%68%65%70%69%72%61%74%65%62%61%79%2e%73%65
goto http://%74%68%65%70%69%72%61%74%65%62%61%79%2e%73%65
goto https://%31%39%34%2e%37%31%2e%31%30%37%2e%31%35%20
goto http://%31%39%34%2e%37%31%2e%31%30%37%2e%31%35%20

can you get there on any of the above? Copy and paste the above goto lines and comment next to them. ta.

PS: if you end up downloading any illegal content, it's on your head

torrentz.com

i find the best.

Little note-

I only use this to download content that i have bought, that i have broken, lost, or want a digital copy of.
I do not undertake nor advise downloading content you are not legally entitled to.

At the moment you're not legally entitled to digital copies if you have not purchased the digital copies, no matter if you own another form of said media or not  Though this is due to change, sometime, when the government get round to finalizing it.

Technically, in the UK, you're not allowed to make MP3's of the CD's you've bought - but everyone does and it's such a lame law which is why they're changing it. Sometime.

I think someone pointed that out to the MP's and that they'd be breaking the law, hence the plans to change. Sometime.
