Have a read through this (http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/167146.aspx) thread :afro:
-
You need to know:
Is you car immo 2 or immo 3
If your car is immo 2 is it CAN based or non CAN
Are the clocks from an immo 2 or immo3 car
Are the clocks from a petrol or diesel car, if they are petrol clocks you would need a different rev counter foil to fit them into your car.
-
yea my one is tdi
-
i dont have a clue about the immo to be honest they are both dev tho
-
You need to know the part number of your cluster and the part number of the cluster you are thinking of getting.
You can get the part number from your cluster using vagcom

what side is the immobiliser symbol?
Depends if it immo2 or immo3
-
yeah that's what I was getting at
I'll get round to replying to your email in a mo
-
the immo light is in the right hand side mph section of the speedo :)
-
what do u think guys is it two or three ?
-
mine is def immo 3 i have no mfd in my one tho can i change it for one with it ?
-
From the cluster FAQ :afro:
Also as a general rule, on immo2 cars the immobiliser symbol (http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h208/old_n07/cluster/immosymbol.png) is in the rev counter and on immo3 cars it is in the speedo
