Title: Silicone hoses and engine cover
Post by: AntMk3GTi on 07 June 2012, 09:47
Hi

Ive fitted a Creation Motorsports top PCV crankcase breather hose (the Y-shaped one), it looks good but its a tight fit getting the engine cover back on.

I'm going to leave the cover off, but would this cause any problems? Is the cover there to protect the coil packs from dust or water?
Also, is there anywhere I can buy a silicone replacement for the turbo pipe to DV separatley instead of buying the 5 peice turbo hose kit?

Thanks

The engine cover is full of holes, so isn't going to protect against ingress of anything.
Naturally, you'll get a bit more crap on the top of the engine, but a quick wipe down solves that.
Which, I suppose, is a contradiction.

Basically, it won't stop anything damaging the engine but it will keep it looking prettier.

creation motorsport sell the pipes individually but it works out cheaper to just buy the whole kit
