So I'm looking for a car to use for motorway miles and general runabout as I've only got my van at the moment, (weddings are expensive!) and the beetles super gay. Everyone's always dissapointed when they see a tattooed goon driving and not a sexy lady.
Ive always liked omegas as they seemed nice for long haul stuff
And the saabs are generally well looked after and have a nice build quality to them.
Toledo.... Keeps me vag!
Or suggest another?
-
if you do a search, wolverine will have covered this subject many times
-
Omegas are GM as are SAABS, both comfy cars and get my thumbs up decent engimes to chomp the motorways. Feck the VAG connection, comfort is more important mate than cost.
-
autos will be fuel drinkers. . . .

Lazy driving is worth the extra few pennies though,
-
If your going for the Omega then get the 2.5 V6 much better.
-
Yeah not to concerned with economy
It's all about comfort these days, I'm nearly 28 ffs!
Is the 2.5V6 pretty much only in the older ones?

I think the facelifts switched to the 2.6 and 3.2 lumps but both are a lot better then the 2.2

you had a V5 Seat before, Slicks... and sold it virtually immediately?! :lipsrsealed:
-
so... ummm... this isn't going to be popular... it doesn't have the exec look about it
but ours is reliable, very practical and economic to run... would be very good for you with the little one and the dogs... or for chucking a load of luggage in the back
this one isn't a bad spec and I am sure you could wheeler deal a discount...

7 series are lovely cars but fiendishly complicated when they go wrong, i know i'm going to get shouted at but how about a rover 75 with the cdti bmw engine...crap image but very comfy and a nice engine.
-
I would go for an Omega V6, preferably the 3.0 or 3.2. A very nice place to be for a motorway journey and the interior beats the spartan 5 series BMW.
Go for an Elite for all the toys or an MV6 with slightly fewer toys but slightly sharper handling.
You get a bonus every time you open the taps too - especially with a drilled airbox. There are few better sounding V6s.

lets be fair, jord will turn up with summat unexpected sooner or later :lipsrsealed:

Good choice. Buy a new crank sensor and AA membership with your change and you will be sorted. (It is rumored that the AA will change one on the side of the road).
Not much else will stop you running on those. The engines and gearboxes last for ever.
Last bonus - a really good forum with a good bunch of people and an excellent maintenance section.
