its been a few years, well 3 or so by the looks of it - which tallys in well with the time i took the golf of the road
anyhow been trying to get it sorted for past few months, the day i decided to put a 9a in it, is the day it all went wrong, 1 thing after another - should have just left it as a very happy 1.8 16v @ 157bhp but anyhow ive now started down that 9a route so i need to finish it. so on the 3rd attempt at 9a i just need to find a suitable block then start again :(
car still looks the same bar taking the splits of the car, and swapped them for some ronals, just for a bit of a change - its floor has all be rewelded, sealed both inside & out - so literally i just need to sort the bottom end!
splits (& manx reg!)

ronals (& ni reg) & a crap pic

full run down on it is:-
1989 mk2 Golf 16v - Tornado Red
2.0 9a 16v
FastEddie ported head
Autotech cams & pulley
Schrick baffled sump & windage tray
G60 Airbox base setup
WUR adjusted
milltek 4-branch manifold/heat wrapped
Supersprint exhaust system (large middle silence removed)
Bilstein 40mm springs
Bilstein rear & Sachs Racing front shocks
Eibach rear anti roll bar
OMP heavy duty front strut brace
280mm brakes
Goodridge braided lines
Full Factory leather
VDO Gauges
Votex centre console
Ronal R15's or BBS RM Splits
but the good thing is, i intend only sorting the golf now, the other money sucker (Click Here (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y186/Gambit001/RL7-3.jpg)) is getting no more spent on it

Welcome back. My vote is for the splits.

yeah splits are the better for sure, but a pain to keep clean & more recently splits & reps are appearing on all other non-vag cars. So the thinking is, take them off, wait for mod scene to move on, all the reps to crack & for the originals to become rare again!
