Hi peeps
My usually good as gold 20vt is suffering from a intamitent fault.
Here's what we've done so far. Please note all was fine before the engine came out.
So engine out smoothed the bay, engine back in n apart from un plugging/ bolting bits the engine didn't get touched. The only thing changed was battery in boot n top fill rad. Didn't have time to do engine loom.
So now since this was done for ultimate dubs a problem has occurred. It seems like its a fueling issue. It starts n ticks over fine but as soon as you put you foot down it splutters, struggles to rev n then cuts out. Fuel can be smelt.
Because the only thing changed was the coolant system we started there. Now we removed the thermostat n all worked well but once the car sat at 70 on the dual carriage way it cooled down to much n the problem started again. Now we think it's the cold start valve or sensor( not sure but something along those lines). The thermostat is rated at 117c so I've got a 87c to try n c if that will help.
The reason I've asked on here tho is that on the way back from stoner park the problem occurred again but after turning it off n on a couple of times it seemed to clear itself. Then we hit a bump n it started again. This has bump issue has happened before.
It's now really puzzling me as could it be electrical. I may not have explained myself but if any one has some answers get in touch.
Cheers
Nathan

How many volts you getting at the battery now thats it's in the boot?
Replaced the blue coolant sensor/plugged it back in? - Had a similar issue recently with our TT 225.

Someone else has said about the coolant sensor. Think I will give that a go.
Not sure on the battery will give that a check
