lmao right i thouht i heard same one say u can uprate the accelerator or it mite have been the Actuator but im not sure lol any help lol
-
uprating an actuator wont get you 340bhp,to get that figure you will need a good few quid
-
no i know it wont lol its a qu about is it worth it?? and will it help lol
-
it will help if you do a lot of other things to
-
Wasps - please type longhand for this forum if you want a sensible answer. I've been on quite a few and "text" typing is not acceptable on any of them.
If I understand correctly Wasps intends to upgrade to 340 bhp. As part of that upgrade he wants to know if changing/upgrading the actuator is beneficial.
-
yes get the forge one
-
makes a bit more sense now.
-
just read it as if you have had 15 pints of the finest and you will soon get it
-
thank you lol n sorry n i have alot of stuff coming and lined up for the beast n sorry again :embarassed:
-
But how are you planning to achieve your 340bhp? That is what will guide your actuator decisions. Many turbos will come with an already up-rated actuator or indeed you could go for an external wastegate. I would try to work this answer out with whoever is doing the work and mapping on your car.
-
and!!!

i i have been talking to pual at VAS in poole n i was going to take the car to 400 hp but he said there is no point the amount of money init for the age of the car it isnt worth it, so ill wait till im 25/26 n get a mk6 2.0 turbo fsi then but ill carry on with this one for know im going down to VAS on thursday anyway for my MOT and servise also ths intercooler and ko3s ko4 hybrid getting fitted (my turbo is focked )
-
Why not just get a proper big turbo like a garrett GT variant? That way you will easily see your hoped-for bhp figures without maxing the turbo out. It would be cheaper to do all that at once than go through different turbos on the way.
-
t04e turbo off ebay and be done.
Sorry, but going into big power without knowing much seems a bad idea if you ask me.
-
i was going to get a k04gt80 samthing lol but i was told it would be £4000 all in no thanks for a car im going to have for 3 to 4 years
-
what the hell is a one of those?
If its k04 off a TT or S3 then 4k is extortionate!
-
4k? You must be having a giraffe
-
its gt samething but u have to do all internals for it to, i was up for it but untill we went in to the build n price and verything involved lol n yer £4k is a bit much  lol i would do it if i was keeping the car for ever but im not so i wont coz url never get the money back on it lol
-
o n the £4k isn't just the turbo its laber n vat n everything
-
are you dreaming? VAS is revo isnt it?
-
i belive so i have a revo remap so i gusse lol i just know them as VAS in holton heath weraham poole dorset lol ill be getting more detels on thursday as i have stuff to be fitted but as i said im not going down that route anyway as its to expencive after all i am paying £3000 on a respray
-
so for now ill drop this lol n ill came back to it ill get more info sorry for wasting time
-
a £350 set of rods will cope with 350bhp.
-
has this forum got a translator or a spell check?
-
4k and the rest...
have you got suspension and brakes to cope with that power? If not, its useless. And then you need an LSD, not so much fun without that.
I agree, its a huge amount af money on such an old car.
-
no they dont have spell check it would be great for sameone that has learning diffuctys if thats how u spell it!!!!
-
i agree about 2 much lol but i do have suspension n brakes on the way im not looking at doing this over night by the way its called a project for a reason
-
nothing wrong with spending on an old car if thats what you wanna do. Afterall theres plenty on ere doing it!
-
take the money going into mk2's for instance

Fair enough. Not saying don't do it, not by a long stretch.
I guess I am just saying that, from experience, it adds up! It is easier doing it over months/years but as the cars get older more things start to go wrong, bumping the cost up.
Its silly things on mine that have cost money - seals, locks, mats, power steering pipes etc. Nothing major but things that end up costing £'s and getting in the way of the enjoyable bits!
If you can do bits yourself, obviously the cost can be quite a bit less.
-

If I do sell mine, my next endevour will be a Mk1 with either a 2.0TFSI or 2.0TDI. So in no way am I saying don't do it, just saying old can increase the cost and when you calculate to spend several grand, even a few hundred extra to spend can by unwelcome/make you absolutely skint!
-
i did think about copying that guy from one of the latest vw performace mags with dropping a 2.0 tfsi in the mk4 lmao but again it cames down to money lol
