Toby just done 300bhp out of k04 so up to u dude it's going to be hard to put the power down

i already have 260 from a k04/k03 theres hardly any wheelspin at that so i think we can afford a little more power ....... does anyone know what kind of power the internals can take its a AUM engine

As you come up to and over 300 brake on an aum you need to do internals without question

It's not horsepower that breaks engines.  It's torque. If you are going above 300ftlbs I'd think about uprating rods/ pistons.

Im getting mine mapped at rtech on wed and i went MHI should be seeing 300-350 BHP so should b fun with the handling!

If you can id go MHI rather than IHI as u dont hear stories of MHI turbos blowing up unlike the IHI.

IHI do not have very good reliability reports. Quite a few blown turbos.
Getting power down is not a really big issue - get an LSD and drive it properly. A bit of spin in the wet maybe.
For sefety, get internals done if taking torque over 300. There are reports of the standard internlas coping but if you are spending that £££ not much point risking it. For what its worth, when mine was converted (before I got it), it did run 350ft/lbs on standard internals for a few thousand miles.

So stay away from the ihi and the internals will need swapping, i seen on the Internet a stroker kit that takes them to 2008cc has anyone had any experience with these? I may nip and see Rtech next time I'm working their way they did the turbo swap and mapped it last time

Not many stroker kit conversions about, mainly due to mapping I think but R-Tech will be able to advise on that!
