It it canbus compatible? All MK5's are full CANBUS based unlike the MK4's......

Have you selected the right coms port within VAGCOM itself?
-
yep dont that. my mate tried it. cause it wasnt working he tried it on his tt and it was fine. I read something online about after market systems dont work with it. You have to by pass the power to the pin or something. dunno if anyone on here has done it

What version vcds are you using?
The fake vcds cables aren't able to use the latest vcds software atm.

The cable and software are fine, just tried it on my dads audi a4 and its perfect.
This is the problem. I just dunno how to do it.
Has anyone else done this before?

Why dont you simply unplug the stereo??
Cant see why you are having a problem as I can plug into my mates GTI with an aftermarket stereo. However i do have a genuine lead

Is your mates TT a mki or mkii? If you have bought the same cable as him and his is a mki TT it maybe that you have bought the wrong cable for your mkv.
