can anyone give me a quick understanding on how it works? i press the button next to the ESP but doesent do anything just flashes once on the speedo display
-
Hold it down for about 5 seconds I think it is
-
From my limited knowledge on this you hold it down once you have inflated your tires to the PSI you want (32 PSI I think it is). It will then use the current pressure as a baseline and will alert you if it drops below the set pressure.

2.4 bar or 35 psi

brill thank you ill give this a go tomorrow

You also need to be stationary when setting it.

It works using the wheel speed (abs) sensors. If a tyre deflates, its overall diameter reduces, therefore increasing the wheel's rotational speed and triggering the sensor.
On occasion, the sytem can be fooled if you go over a bump, a wheel leaves the ground, or you get a bit of wheelspin, but it happens too quickly for the ESP to step in and tell the TPS that it has the situation in hand.

Dont think this is the case. Mine triggered last night when PSI had dropped to 21PSI from 35 PSI (probably got a a slow puncture ). Thats a 60% drop before warning lamp alert on dash triggered.

It works as per the description from dubber36 and thats why it needs to drop significantly before the alert comes up.

to simplify... its pretty sh1t. check your tyres every week or so

On mine, once you inflate the tyres to the correct pressure you turn on the ignition whilst holding the tire pressure button down, keep it pressed until the dashboard light goes out (I think you also hear a dong of some kind, but can't remember!). This then sets the pressure. If any tyre drops by 1 bar the light comes on - it uses rotation speed and ABS sensor to work.
Hope that helps!
