my mk1 caddy wont start. its running on a mk2 golf gti 1.8 8v engine. the engine is turning over but not firing, i had the same problem a while back but solved it by cleaning the 3 pin plug to the distributor cos it was grafted. the plugs seem to be sparking ok but not sure if they should spark in a set order? and are looking pretty black at the ends.. Im not so good with engines so any help would be appreciated..

ignition should go 1-3-4-2. if it is so, check the infeed fuel line, the one with no pressure regulator on the way. in those engines injectors run all at the same time so if the 2 mentioned things will be allright, try the electric connectors for fuel injecors
