Before I go changing my wheels how do these come out? Just a case of undo them and bobs your uncle?

If you seriously don't know how to remove a wheel then I seriously suggest you don't even attempt to change the wheels.

Late Mk3's have bolts that undo clockwise, if they are really tight you might be going the wrong way :wink:

Ive had cars with nuts as apposed to bolts usually hence the question. I know how to change a wheel was just making sure I wasnt about to destroy the thing lol (wheels came with new bolts) now i look at the bolts it makes sense! Ignore the retarded question.
Also disencouraging someone to try something is plain moronic... how else will they learn?

Anyway. point proven should have atleast used one brain cell before asking such a stupid question

You could also use one of these if it helps, could make one but getting a wheel on studs is easier than juggling a wheel on your foot, aligning the holes with both hands and then holding it there with one while trying to screw in the bolt.

I've people struggle with the silliest of things, like filling an engine with oil via the dipstick tube!!! :shocked:

Never tried working on one so couldnt comment I'm afraid. it was more in referance to more simple procedures mind

its harder putting a wheel on with a spacer behind it that isnt hubcentric. the 9mm spacers i had on my bora were a paint to fit as it was a case of jugling the big ars alloy wheel wile trying line the spacer behind it with a screwdriver through the bolt hole to get the first bolt in :grin:
but after i did it a few times you get the hang of it :wink:

I find use masking tape to hold the spacer on the disc helps a lot

Hmmmm i would of went on youtube or google before asking such a Question. wheels are wheels some have locking nuts but still come off the same way.

They need to be tight but not overtight. Start bolts by hand and get all of them in then tighten opposite.
Loosen WHILE ON THE FLOOR!
Tighten til they stop then let the car of the jack THEN tighten.
Or get your mother to help!

make sure you put all the wheel bolts back in the holes they came from or you could be running your car without the right amount of wheels per cylinder
