Title: Matts Mk3 Golf GTi
Post by: MattJAbela on 31 May 2012, 17:15
Hi Guys!!!

Thought as i've done a bit to my car i should start a Dub Rides thread so you can see what i've done and what im doing and planning :)

Little background on everything, basically, Im Matt, 20 years old and this is 7th car and the best one i've owned yet!

The car is a Mystic Blue mk3 8 valve GTI, 130k on the clocks and i bought it completely standard. We think the story behind it being sold was the 17 year old who bought it, got it before he checked what his £8000 insurance would be, so i snapped it up for £950. Even though he was reluctant to sell it, i got it :)

Instantly fell in love with it.

The guy sold me his coilovers with it, so they went on the next week when we had a spare few moments, we were shocked at how much of an easy job it was!!

So it was sitting alright, the rear has come down after them pictures and a bit of adjustment :)

I was at work, bored, and decided a change of wheel colour was needed, now for the couple of weeks on marmite...

Not to everyones taste, but i liked it.

A couple of weeks later, my mate swapped his rover 200 coupe for a vr6, his plans were to fix it up, until he saw it..lexus lights, DIY paint job with runs everywhere, rust holes in the sill, he decided to break it, much to my enjoyment ;)

Full leather interior and a set of audi pepperpots went straight in my car :) Such a big improvement

Its such a vast improvement..i love it!!! Cant stop smiling when i look at it, and it gets lots of attention

Last night we made a start on getting my VR6 out, needs the manual conversion, but the engine is sweet!!

So once the engines out, i need to source a gearbox and the other stuffs i need and its going out..

Once thats done im gonna be pretty much happy with it :)

Hope you all like it :)

Matt.

30mm spacers is too much, 15mm or 20mm would be fine
