Title: Look what Mr postman dropped off + info needed
Post by: Chris#101 on 30 May 2012, 19:36
Finally had a chance to look through it all and it looks relatively straight forward to install

Devils own 6-30psi WMI kit

50 liters of 99.95% Virgin grade methanol

Where would the injector/nozzle best be situated:

*BEFORE intercooler in pipe work!?
*AFTER intercooler in pipe work!?
*directly after the throttle body in the inlet manifold!?
*MIDDLE of the inlet manifold!?

Any guidance would much be appreciated

thanks

Looks good where did you get your methanol from?

You want to put the nozzle after the intercooler but its up to you where. Ive put mine in the pipework just after the intercooler for max time to mix with the air. Some people inject it straight in to the manifold and it works fine.

Dont know which is best up to you mate

The only place I have ever seen it is on the manifold...Didn't even know you could put it anywhere else!

I had a chat with nick from r-tech about this and he reccomeded putting it after the intercooler before the map sensor (on a aum) as it mixes bette rand the map sensor re-adjusts if you run out of meth.
Don't quote me on this but pretty sure it's what he said best havin a chat with him

Cheers guys, Really looking forward to installing this , apparently even before mapping the difference is noticeable

I think il be tapping into the boost pipe after the FMIC then for the nozzle situ  nice and out the way then .

As for prices etc

Bruce from http://www.methanol-injection.co.uk/ Sorted me out, He's a top bloke very helpfull and good after care Cost just shy of £300 inc postage, 6-30psi WMI kit & 4Quatrz tank

As for the Methanol I searched high and low for the stuff untill I found a BIO fuel supplier just 10 miles up the road who sells 99.95%  Virgin grade methanol for just 80pence a litre

Just had a quick skim through the electrical side of the brochure install..

What wire is the 12v ignition?

Luckly for yo the nearest place for me is leiester will have to pick some up on my way to rtech.

I just wired my WMI and EBC in and i used the little plug that conects to the gearbox right under the battery tray. There are two wires going to it and its the green/brown one off the top of my head but check it with a voltmeter, then it will go on and off with your ignition
