Sorry about all the random questions guys, its the first engine conversion im doing and i want to get it right..
Basically, when getting the interior out of the vr6 last night, we found an ECU looking type thing under the rear bench, just wondering if this is in fact the ECU or something else?? Just i've never seen an ECU in this position?
Thanks
-
Its not an engine ECU
-
Any idea what it is for??
-
Picture or part number? Never come across an ecu under there.
-
Will get one later..the cars an auto if that helps?
-
You sure its not an amp? :undecided:
-
I would guess it is something aftermarket.
-
It looks really very standard, the cables wrapped in the same fabric stuff that the normal cables are wrapped in. Looks like the standard cable colours. Sure it had a VW part number on it too. Im going over there at 5 today to carry on. Its really confusing. Its not an AMP, i will get a part number later for it and see if that helps?
I googled Volkswagen VR6 auto gearbox ECU and a few things came up that look the same. Does the gearbox have an ECU??
-
Yea they usually do.
-
Im guessing its that then?? If i call up VW with the parts code on it will they tell me what it is?
-
You don't need Vw for that
-
if its on the right hand side under the backseat then it's gearbox ecu 200%

Thats the one mate, thankyou!!
