Very nice mate  any particular reason for going for a specced up match over the GT?

Very nice mate  any particular reason for going for a specced up match over the GT?
It was working out alot cheaper, when i say alot, 2/3k. I got a cracking discount + also got the £1500 finance contribution which you dont get with the GT. The only difference between mine and the GT (as far as I know) is the leather interior and the silver insert around the grille between the fog lights. Got a real good offer with regards to the extras too :-)

Very nice, great colour too!

Great looking car and good spec too.

Sounds like your a happy bunny then!?

Very nice car. I had a Match for a few weeks when the Passat was in for some warranty paintwork, and was really impressed with the spec as standard

The givaway that your's isn't a GT (appart from the bits you mentioned and the wheels) are the rear lights. The GT has "Cherry Red" lights, as fitted to the GTI/D before LED rears came along.
Just one thing you are missing is Skoda Yeti exhaust tips. The best £24 you'll spend on your car.

Looking good man, and of course the best colour...

Looks good... congrats on the new purchase, sounds like a great buy!
Lots of mods you can do with it of course

Lovely. Sounds like a good deal there. What did you end up paying for it if you don't mind me asking?
Does the GT now get leather as standard? I thought it was just the GTI & GTD
How do you find going from the petrol to the diesel?
I found my 140 took a good few thousand miles to loosen up.
Oh, its well worth going and seeing The Doc for some surgery  Makes the car complete and gives you more MPG.
-
Thanks alot guys :-) a very happy bunny.
@p3asa - ill PM you - yeah GT now comes with leather as standard. Massive difference from petrol - diesel, even with fuel consumption, on my commute to work, i always got between 38-42 in my petrol, now im getting around 65 in the diesel, its brilliant! The 6th gear really brings the noise down & helps consumption and Im suprised at how low down the power is available, a friend of mine had a diesel rover and the turbo didnt kick in for ages so it was dead for a few seconds, ive been really taking it easy, think ive done 800 miles, i dont think ive even passed 3000rpm but i think once i hit around 1000, ill strech its legs a bit. What is the best way to run these engines in? I know some people say thrash them from day 1 but that cant be good ?
And ive also been thinking of booking for some surgery :p maybe after a year or so has passed ill have the op lol
Thanks again everyone :-)

There is 2 school of thoughts regarding running in.
Drive it like its stolen or drive it like Miss Daisy.
Loads of evidence for both around the t'internet.
I personally done the gradual exposure upping the revs each few hundred miles.
The main thing is not to have the engine labouring at all.
How did you find the actual difference driving the diesel? I've had TD cars before but found the Golf took a while for me to get used to it. I was constantly stalling it. Not while taking off but because it was in too high a gear for the speed I was going at. Silly things like coming off a motorway slip road onto a roundabout and turning left. I could easily do this in 3rd gear on a petrol or other TD car but with the golf it would just cut out as soon as I put the foot down. Probably my style of driving but it used to happen any time I slowed down.

It tells you how to run it in, in the manual.

Real men don't read manuals

Ive just touched 1000 miles and have yet to give full throttle, gonna strech her legs a bit now tho, dont think ive went over 3000rpm either, gonna gently increase this :) Ive actually only stalled it once, and it was in the tesco carpark in second when i thought i was in first, any time i do slow down i take a quick look at the revs/the little gear change arrow thingy which reminds me im in a diesel :) I filled the tank 300 miles ago and its just a notch or 2 from being half full, so approx 550 miles on my first full tank, i realise it takes many miles for things to run in, what did you mean when you said it took a few k for yours to loosen up? def think a remap is on the cards for its first birthday :p

happy days, £20 for 2, nice one, so these literally just pop on? are they safe? because a friend who drives a clio popped something similar to this onto his and while giving some beans, it blew off and hit a bus behind him lol

For an extra £4 i would buy proper VAG ones from a Skoda dealer rather than cheap knockoffs.

Looking good...like the white...

Rock solid mate, I've put them on mrs ginges cab and they look the b0ll0cks.

I've found once the fuel gauge gets to half empty it just plummets. Its certainly not a linear gauge. Let us know what you get out of it.
By loosening up I meant it took until 10k - 15k before I seen the best MPG.

They aren't Yeti tips. The Yeti ones don't have any screws / fixings on them and aren't twin rolled like the ones on ebay. Plus the official ones from Skoda come in a twin pack.
Save yourself some money and buy official. I bought what looked like decent trims from eBay and within a month they had corroded really badly. I then bought the Yeti tips from Skoda around 18 months ago and they are still as good as new.

How about this one here guys ?

Very nice car mate, looks identical to the GT as someoone else mentioned.
When you say you had to wait 4 months for your car, was that because it was a factory order?

Thanks :) yeah since it was a factory order, it was more like 4.5/5 months because i was working in leeds for 9 days then on holiday in magaluf for a week, the day i flew to leeds, i got a txt from the guy telling me the car was ready :( heartbreaking knowing it will be sitting there for almost 3 weeks because i was too busy working/holidaying :p made the delivery day even better tho :)

It's always the worst when it's a factory order - the wait is unbearable!
I don't know if it's true but my mate said that if you order a 3dr factory order it makes it a little longer as it's an uncommon combination? :undecided:
Nevertheless, I can't wait to pick it up & but need the patience of a saint for the duration!
