Post by: mcgee9t2 on 29 May 2012, 21:22

basically when the cars still warm it sometimes struggles to turn on. and after maybe 10 seconds it will fire up, but will idel at around 1200 rpm for a min or so before droping down to 800.

anyone have any idea.

Had these symptoms on a 1.8T AUM and I ended up replacing the crankshaft position sensor at about 80,000 miles. Best to plug in a fault coder reader to confirm where the problem is as a sensor from the dealers is about £100. Cheers.
