Title: Over revving valver
Post by: TIM20 on 10 June 2005, 06:27
I have a problem with my valver

I had to change the rocker cover oil seal and since i have put it back together i have had the following problem

When i start the car after its been sat it revs at about 2000 rpm ( making me look like i cant drive)

Then once is been driven even a few hundfred meters it settles down to a nice steady 1000 rpm tick over.

Occasionally it runs at around 900rpm on tick over and sounds rough

Any ideas??

Cheers Tim

if you've had the rocker cover off then you've had to disconnect the throttle switch

check the throttle switch & its wiring, make sure none of the wires are broken and that the switch is closing when throttle is closed
