car needed a new battery, i removed the old one put the new one on and both of the windows went down and the deadlocking fault that i have made a previous post about occured. windows will not go back up! you click the button for up and theres no reaction, if you click down on either of the buttons it makes a noise like it would go down if it wasnt already down, tried turning the key the other way for 5 seconds and that didnt do it and no fuses have blown. someone help :(

Making me wonder if there is a short in a wire in one of the inner door boots, could be a split causing havoc with the elec window/lock circuit, seems to link into the other fault you have, there is no control unit as such for the locks etc... as there is no CAN network or anything so its probably going to be a simple fault such as a faulty lock switch or issues with the window switches/circuit, but check all the wiring where it enters the door from the pillar under the boot, i had a similar issue with rear windows which was caused by a small split in a wire on the rear window circuit, causing it to go +to ground

there was no split cables or anything, also forgot to add that there is no spark and i cannot start the car it only cranks. hooked up to dignostic reader and it could not read the engine only abs, i have come to the conclusion that the ecu is fried, any opinions? previous tools who put my battery on may have put it on backwards see and i have been informed that this can fry the ecu
