Okay bought the car about 12 months ago, I know it's not a golf but as an ex-forum fanatic owning 3 golf mk3's and a mk4 thought I'd put a build thread up as iv got big plans hopefully
Bought her with 114,000 miles and a 12 month ticket. Pretty much done nothing to her apartment from maintaining her including timing belt.

That's a very cool car.
I had a Race Blue Ltd...it was a great car.
What are your plans for it?

Just got some ronal alloys for it, so refurbing those, going to be done in white then new three all round, followed by coilover to get it to sit nice, I want the car to really stand out but not over the top, just subtle mods that go POW!

So picked up these today, gonna be busy this month refurbing, also need to source tyres and a coilover kit

Great choice  don't go too mad with the lowering, these tend to handle best with a 40mm drop.
-
Fabia vRS don't handle.
Too much weight up front, it's like driving a lumphammer and there's little you can do about that weight distribution problem. You can try and mask it, but you're pretty limited by the physics.
Cheap to run though.

Okay thanks, 40mm might bbe enough to stop it looking like its on stilts after fitting the 17" wheels.

Ok so I got the alloys 2 weeks ago and not really done much but spent about 10 hours on 1 alloy, I realised iv gone overboard as iv practically stripped it down to bare metal, on the next 3 I'm gonna just concentrate on the corroded/damaged areas and literally rub the laquer off the rest

Just need a good clean before first coat of primer
