I know this is in the wrong place, and I should probably know better, but just about to top up the oil, seems to have dropped to below half in under 3000 miles. I m on fixed service, i.e. 10,000 miles/1 year. Castrol Edge 5W - 30...is that the stuff to use? or is there a better product out there? Cheers.

Longlife oil 5-30 is correct , Edge is very good

Yup. Luckily mine has not used any yet at 4500 miles. All the 2.0 TFSI and TSI engines I have had havent needed a top up between services 12k usually (fingers crossed). I am obviously not driving it hard enough
Did you drive it hard from new as I always drive mine hard (warm it up first) to get the rings properly bedded in the first 30 miles while there is still some honing on the bores. This has worked so far, not sure what the long term effect will have but I only keep them for 3 years max.

+1
Just had some fun with a civicR, and before people start saying 'race' and all that none sense...No it wasn't a race it was just literally some fun between two fairly well spec'd cars....
It was like one has a blast then the other catches up and so on and so on....we peeled off afterwards and went our separate ways, happy as larry.
