Title: 16v temp sensor which one two types

Alright guys i have a question about my temp sensors  :rolleyes: my cars temp gauge is taking longer to get to temp and also its using more fuel which i know can be caused by the temp sensor on the water flange. But are these two options from euro car parts the one i need or is it the other one which slots into the actual flange. On the 8v's its different its all done by the one 4 pin  :smiley: which is it for my 16v. And where can i get the other push in type in the flange other than dealers as ecp dont do that one  :sad:

Pretty confident its not the stat mate its more sensor related as it always gets to temp just takes about 5 mins longer and is using more fuel and lost slight performance with some exhaust pop at low revs only sensor i know that can cause these symptoms i just dont know which of the two it is i need  :sad: cheers

I know lol i could even unscrew the one on my car and measure what size it is i need but means i lose water and its nearly dark now  :sad: plus i want to know if its infact this kind which screws into the side of the block or its the push in one on the plastic flange like the 8v's which causes these things. I'm far to lazy to look on google  :laugh:

What's the year and maybe your VIN number? just ZZZ last three digits, will look it up on VW parts catalogue for you then.

ah nice one its a 1997 r reg ABF of course  :laugh: and i will send you vin number tomo cheers  :smiley:

If it's a 97 it's M10, only early models (<=94) had M14 for temperature switch.

part no for white one: 026906161 (2-pin)
black one: 049919501 (1-pin)
