Two questions really, can you code via VCDS the mirrors to fold in automatically when you remove the key from the ignition and to fold back out when switching on the ignition instead of manually turning the switch all the time?
Also i've also changed all my interior bulbs to LED one's but can't figure out how to change the puddle light bulbs, anyone know if you have to remove the glass to get at them or is there another way?

I don't believe so.
I've been looking for this for a while and drawn a blank.

Yes, the glass has to come out. Not as daunting as it sounds! I took the glass out 3 times on my drivers side (long story) but I managed to crack the glass on the passenger side on 1st attempt! €40 for replacement glass from VW! Anyway, if you are very careful you should get away without breaking it. I did manage it on one side after all. Some plastic trim removal tools are useful also.
There's a guide for doing this somewhere on this forum that I followed. But basically, dip the glass down as far as possible and gently lever in behind the glass around its centre point. It's clipped in. If you lever at the sides you'll more likely stress the glass and crack it.
The result is worth it IMO!

Can you remember what size bulb it is? and the best place to get one from?
Definately worth the hassle by the look of your's.

These are the exact ones I got - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/270790422041?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_510wt_689
They are canbus W5W. I believe that non canbus will register an error on the ECU and these ones won't.
I only did this mod last week, so it's fresh in the mind! Any other questions, just ask. It's deffo worth it, makes a big difference, especially when unlocking the car in the dark obviously!

Thanks Joe. I'll get some of those ordered before i attempt to remove the glass.

Sunday - if you do that they'll open up in the garage before you drive out which means you'll have to fold them back in for safety [unless you've got a very wide garage] Isn't it better to leave them as they are?

That's a very good point. Not a problem if you don't garage your car, but it would be a problem for me.

It's not a problem for me, my garage is wide enough to drive in/out without any danger of catching the mirrors but thanks for the concern anyway.
