Going widetrack off a mk3 GTI so will be 5 stud, and buying some BMW fitment wheels.
The zimmer wheels have an offset of 47, will they fit with adaptors, or will they have to be re-drilled?
The car has the small arch kit on it, will this be enough to hang out over the tyre tread? Don't particularly want stretched tyres.

Offset of a standard wheel is around 37, wide track gives you another 10mm if I remember correctly. So in total your looking at roughly 20mm wider than what you have now. That's without the adaptors too.

Pretty sure the number gets lower the further away from the car you get, so an ET47 wheel, with 25mm spacers, would end up at ET22 which I believe is fine on a mk2.
How this is affected by, in particular, the mk3 gti wide track option I'm unsure... Sure someone on here will have done it

Have you looked on the vwGolfmk2 forum? Lots of info on there

Going to be really tight for clearance.
-
dosent have to be 5 stud you can use 4 stud hubs with the mk3 wishbones, driveshafts and arb's, of press 4 stud hubs into the mk3 bearings carriers
-
So I can use the whole mk3 16v setup so I can fit AGU and still retain 4stud?

Have you seen this? (http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=220814&highlight=beam+width)
+20mm - +24mm track increase per side. You'll probably struggle for clearance with the wheels.

Marvellous..
