These 'spy' shots annoy the hell out of me cos all that looks like is any mk6 with a bin liner over it, with text attached that we've already seen a million times already.
-
I'm so sure I've seen this picture posted before the MK6 came out?!
-
so its a Mk5.75 then
-
Oh, really looking forward to the MK7....
NOT!
All it is, is a MK6.5
But I will reserve final judgement till I see it in the flesh...
-
Its not going to look greatly different, and thats a given.
Just look at the new MQB A3 compared to the old one, just a little sharper to look at.
Is that a bad thing though, the mk6 looked better than the mk5 and this too will be an improvment I think.
At least it won't be a, "It might grow on me", type design like the new Focus.

Aaaaaaaah, I want a DSG .. What should I do? I drive a manual 07 GTI today.
Wait for a MY14 GTI (Im pretty sure the first model year will have some bugs), or buy an ED35 today and change in two-three years .......... Decisions!!

About time you changed that MK5 it will be a classic soon  Get an ED35 you won't regret it :cool:You need to own a MK6 before you go for the MK7 and agree the early ones will have some problems.

Bit more info here (from an older source though), so not sure how accurate :-

The GTi sounds like it is going be lighter and a lot "torquier"
Quote :-
The next Golf GTI is based on the new group MQB architecture, which means it really is all new. It's bristling with the latest tech and you can read our full MQB platform tech analysis here.
New is a proper limited slip diff instead of the electrically operated system of today
In GTI spec, it brings an uprated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, now producing 217bhp and 251lb ft. Power's up only marginally, but that's a substantial torque hike, all of it on tap from 1800-5200rpm.
So the next hot Golf is fast: 0-62mph takes just 6.7sec and top speed is 153mph, according to CAR's friendly faces in Wolfsburg.
I think our current R has 258lb ft, so the new GTi will be nearly the same as us in the torque department.

Going to check out a spanking new one on saturday, by e-mail they gave me an indicative trade in value I could very well go for without any negotiations, but negotiate I will  oh fun!
-
Up date from auto express from this weeks issue puts the mark 7 GTI up too 240bhp and the R version to 300bhp.
Thought the GTI would have to be higher to keep it above the Polo R at 114 bhp
