Lad's Im Stuck ! Iv just realised that iv got a hole in the rear drivers side footwell. My Carpet was soaked in water. The hole is near the petrol tank, could i get it welded ? or is that too dangerous incase the petrol tank blows ! ??

You need to cut out all sh!t metal then weld a plate on. Will have to remove fuel tank and carpets etc.

Bugger, need to spend more money now :(

Common place, it usually the plastic bungs that cause it. Doubt its near petrol tank as that would be in the boot floor.
had them on both sides of mine.

mine is under the rear footwell on the drivers side.

no where near the tank then, had mine done a while back, pretty cheap really

Real easy fix that and any garage shouldn't charge you much to do it although being a mk3 owner like myself investing in a welder and learning the tecnique would be a good move. You would also want to investigate the source of the water leak into the car and prevent any future corrosion problems. Petrol tank is right at the back on a Mk3 so won't be an issue with welding the floorpan.
