Title: Mk5 Golf Stereo Options
Post by: th3_f15t on 21 May 2012, 20:29
I've searched the interweb and these forums, but I've come up stumped.

Looking to upgrade the stereo in my Golf TDI. Got an RCS-510 (or which ever the one with sat nav is). Got a budget of about £500 (give or take some depending).

What I'm after is an upgraded unit that fits the following;

About £500
Works with the in car CD changer
USB/AUX at the front
Sat nav (not essential)
Direct fit into the dash board (not essential but preferred)

Any suggestions? Throw them out there, need to see all the options. Cheers all.

Well, that seems about perfect, cheers.

Retard question, but will it fit into my existing wiring without any modifications?

Wiring should be a straight fit but the unit may need coding to the car depending on what options are fitted i.e. bluetooth, multi-function steering wheel etc.

You need VCDS / VAGCOM to do this or a dealer may charge you a couple of quid to do it.  I'd find someone local to you with VCDS who will do it for beer tokens  :wink:
