Really just a rant at the absolute pr**ks that advertise thier parts on forums, then when you send them your hard earned cash they stick two fingers up and you loose your money when they don't send them. I mean we all come on forums for our love of cars and when you try to save a few quid and get second hand parts then end up with no parts and zero funds because someone is basically a robbing git!!!
Wish we could ban these people from forums, or at least have them refused from selling parts again. Dont know if many of you have come across this but it's certainly put me off using the classified section now???

cant offer much in the way of help
but if you let the admins know ( jv & topher ) they will be able to monitor the account etc
-
PM JV or topher with all the details, only buy from someone with lots of posts (1000's) and who seems to be well known, do a bit of digging on the seller first.
-
use paypal. doesent cost much and then money can be recoverd.
sorry but not sympathy for people who dont, hundreds of threads on here about people getting scammed, sadly not much the mods can do, they can block ip adresses and emails, but its not hard to get around that/go onto a different forum to scam someone.
hope its just the royal mail taking there time. but if not then learn from your mistakes

Now that is awsome!
-
get itrader so ppl can leave feedback like ebay
-
It's not too hard to not be scammed. I've had two attempted scammers.
I only buy from well known people or arrange to pick it up.
Even if you can't pick it up, ask first. If they say no, it's almost definately a scam.
-
Paypal is not 100% to give your money back unless you purchase via eBay
-
if you didn't pay by paypal as a business transaction (not a gift) then you only have yourself to blame. to think that all people are honest is naive. don't trust anyone. ever.

not always 100%, but a hell of a lot more likely than by bank transfer
-
Well maybe it is slightly naive and haven't lost a lot like some people just more pissed off cos I wanted my new rear lights. But still no excuse, leaving your door unlocked doesn't mean it's right for people to rob your house does it??? All I'm saying is that the person concerned is a 4 star forum regular and should be kicked off the forum for good for those sort of actions. I've done the same process with other genuine sellers on here with no problems just this one.
-
Sorry to here this, hope you can get it sorted..some how!

Don't think there is much chance of that more frustrating than anything else and would be nice to know the forum would do something about this type of thing.
-
Who is it?
-
Yeah name and shame!

Yeah name and shame!
Member called Gordon, 5 star member, bought set of original
GTI rear lights and now he's ignoring all mail. A few days after he gave what a thought was a genuine reason why he hadn't sent them, so I said fine but it's been weeks and no replies etc so basically been scammed.
-
Sometimes making it public will help get things sorted, some people are genuine and things go wrong. If he is genuine he'll want this sorted now it's been made public. ;)
-
Groan. Would it be better to not have a classifieds section? :undecided:
Have pm'd the seller, the account has been online today.
-
NO.
And please don't go the edition route of having to have 200 posts before being able to sell or buy stuff.
-
Don't think it's needed to have a million posts to advertise etc but maybe that's why they do it??? Simply a rules that after you have proved urself a regular you can sell then if you rip other members off your account will be terminated. I don't mean to involve the admin or moderators into squabbles just if people don't supply at all therefore stealing money they are banned ???
-
i think it would be easier to have an advice, terms and conditions page that every person must accept before being allowed to purchase stuff in the classifieds section. If they don't agree to the terms then they're not allowed to access the classifieds. That way you can make them read the warnings and give them the advice they need before they decide to go and get ripped off anyway. Then the admins can just delete posts like these cause
-
been sugested millions of times.more hassel than its worth....
-
When you got your new Computer/Iphone/whatever, did you read the terms and conditions, or did you just go right to the bottom and click 'agree'. !?
-
