Title: Want to start detailing again
Post by: Shady Pioneer on 21 May 2012, 19:18
I've been out of the cleaning came for quite some time now but seeing as I've got my Anni to a more presentable stage I'd like to keep her looking good.

To begin with, biggest problem I had before was storage of cleaning products. I don't have a garage or shed so was looking into a store bag, seen a friend who has this and looked quite good with plenty of space:

Now I want to keep my new leathers looking good and have read good things about this leather kit:

Heard good reviews about it.

Also would like a decent interior cleaner for the dash etc, along with window cleaner.

Recommendations?

You might be better and cheaper to get a clear sealable box from B&Q as your detailing collection will grow.  Gliptone is a good leather cleaner and conditioner. For glass try Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol and Auto Finesse Revive for the dash/trim.

Theres a few ideas for storage in http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=229211.0 . The detailing bags do seem pretty good though.

I'm not really planning in buying loads, I think mainly the following:

Leather cleaner + MF cloth
Dash cleaner + MF cloth
Window cleaner + cloth

Clay bar and quick detailed + MF cloth
Polish + cloths
Wax + cloths
Bumper care + cloth

Just want to know what's good at the moment, I never tried Dodo Juice products or Poorboys but hear lots of good things, problem is, I don't know what's what.

Personally I like PB stuff. Dj products are good, but overpriced imo. The sealable boxes are a good idea, or you could get one of the big stacked tool boxes on wheels with a grab handle. Thats where its at!!!

Holy sh!t. Wolfs Silk Milk is an unbelievable product. Seriously love this stuff! Waxamomo sent me a little tester and I'm hooked (great sales technique there ). Spray a tiny bit of it on your dash, interior plastics, steering wheel etc then give it a good buff with a nice clean MF...Bring it up so shiny and smooth to touch. Smells awesome also!
