i've had the eibach springs kit on mine for over a yr, with 17's, with no probs.

To be honest, having 18's makes no difference as the total diameter of the wheel will be almost exactly the same (to within a mm or 2).  i.e. in terms of total wheel + tyre diameter, 225/45/17 = 225/40/18.

Is your kit the sportline or the pro-kit? sorry to sound specific but everyone keeps mentioning "40 mm" these are the two kits available for VW golfs so I just need to know which would be better?

TIA
