Title: Some Assistance...Bonnet Cable
Post by: WadGTI on 20 May 2012, 16:24
Hi Folks,

Not sure really where to post this, but I have a 52 plate seat ibiza and the bonnent cable has snapped.

The cable has detatched from tthe handle underneath the dash. problem is seat stick to much plastic trim inside am not sure where to begin or where to start.

Any ideas if you are able to get into the lock by breaking the grill? or where the cable would run via the engine into the cockpit.

Any suggestions would be appricated.

Thanks

If it's snapped inside the car, pull the trim off, find the cable, strip back the outer sleeve and pull the cable.

Don't break the grill.

I have got to the cable however the wire is not inside it.

The cable has a black texture coating, inside of thatis metal coil and inside of a small white platic tube...bug no wire inside of that. Is there a chance the wire has went back up inside trhe cable?
