Title: What the best way to go with my engine??
Post by: Charlieessex on 19 May 2012, 23:29
Hi all I have a 1.8t agu golf and I am looking for around 320 to 350 bhp , I have so far installed a vr6 clutch set up , air filter and few other bits . To achieve this power I was looking at the t4 turbo rep with forged rods , complete bottom end rebuild and top end, performance cambelt, fmic, 3" turbo back exhaust with decat, oil cooler, samco hose set , bugger injectors and adjustable fpr , and an RTec remap for larger turbos obviously this doesn't come cheap , just under 2k , is this the best way to go ?

im not sure but would a vr6 clutch be upto 350 bhp? imo mate dont bother hell of alot of money, get it around 240 250 would be nice! even more so if its standard at the moement you wont belive the diffrence. mines running around 180,200 and its 10 times better than they are standard!, plus you will need a lsd really with that sort of power, i know of a mk4 with 440 bhp and off the line its meant to be daft just not driveable it just rags you alllover road and its always breaking down lol, as i got told when i got mine.. its a front wheel drive mk4 golf not a evo or somthing that you can put lots of power in and get the power down

My mate had a mk1 (BAM lump) with 260bhp and in 3rd with Toyo 888's you could feel it loosing traction with no LSD. 1st & 2nd it just span up. I think throwing an LSD into the mix would make the car much more useable.

Throttle isnt a on/off switch.  Learn to drive and you will have no wheelspin.

having power is one thing.....knowing how to drive a car is another story.
