Post by: Hoggy on 17 May 2012, 22:21
Ok so im doing my headlining and pillars a different colour, just went and ordered the material tonight, black suede

But I just wondered how I would go about doing the door seals?  :undecided:

Is it possible to re upholster then or not?

Any help or advise much appreciated!

Cheers, Hoggy.

I used some fake leather on my mk3 headliner, the back half went on a treat but the front?? a royal pain in the arse, I had a sunroof but the worse part was the grab hadle and sunroof recesses. There was no stretch whatsoever, horrible job. You might have better luck though, who knows?  :nerd:

Yea im not using fake leather, too think and no give. The black suede has plenty of give and stretch so shouldn't be an issue with recceses, plus, no sunroof

yes it is good, although it didn't make the seals 100% black, more of a dark grey. Good enough though

So would you suggest using it on the headlining??

I got dark grey on my seats so think it will work

Thinking of doing mine at some point, worst part I'm sure will be sunvisors, light/alarm sensor things and the W8 light (when I get one) looking to have all the logo's lighting up so scraping paint off with a needle to reveal the logo's inbetween coats of paint will be fun, need to keep OEM look
