What can be done and what improvements will it make ie lowering air filter brakes etc it's a 1995 if that helps

I'd leave the engine as it is as the 1.4 is a lost cause, as for styling stick it on its arse and some nice wheels. Search for mk3 appreciation thread, some good looking mk3s in there

I agree leave the engine as it is because anything you do to it will be a waste of time if you are trying for extra power.
As for styling, a good hit with the lowering stick and some nice BBS RA's (get some reps if money is an issue) colour coded to your car would be my choice. All red rear clusters and a VR6 splitter. I would also upgrade the headlights if you have the standard CL one's to the dual chamber GTi lights because they look so much better :smiley: You could also replace your side rub strips with colour coded VR6 highline ones. Something I did to improve the looks.

As already Said. Don't worry about the engine as there's no point.
The most important modding for any mk3 is the stance and rims so buy some cheap coilovers and stick some decent wheels on it. Deeper the dish the better.
And lower it around the wheels.
Then the rest is all your own touches like indicators, splitter, rear lights, headlights. Go in eBay in the styling section and type in mk3 golf. Loads of diferant stuff on there mate. Always good to get bits that match each other. :wink: hope that helps.

slam it, nice alloys, vr6 splitter, paint trim black, good clean paint job done dont waste money on engine maybe air filter exhaust for sound and looks hope it helps

Thanks guys has helped wasn't hoping for power just a nice note from the engine and exhaust and to make her look a little better I'll get a pic of her up tommorow and maybe you can give md s few more pointers along the way as this is my first vw always had fords so the modding scene is a lil different lol

Drill your air box and put a cold feed pipe on, it wont work as good as a vr6 but it does work best with a K&N air filter made for the box. back box your best bet a universal one as im yet to find a straight on fit for a 1.4.
mines just a 1.4 but going for the vr6 ASAP.
