Title: gear shift repair kit-any one fitted one?

Hi, so i have a rod change golf gti 8v and i've ordered a gear shift kit but can only see where about 4 bits go, are there some bits that go on the end of the gear lever and if so how do i get the gaitor and tunnel out the way?
