Grant Holt for one. 15 league goals for a team who have just come up. Same kind of player as Carroll, but Holt can find the net. Carroll has scored what, 4 goals this season? Is a complete joke that his two good games at the end of warrant a place in the team.

Saying that, why Downing too? Had a awful season. No Richards, who has been awesome all season , with Kyle Walker not going due to injury, Richards should be going.

I have quite a few friends who have season tickets at Liverpool and they are amazed at Carroll and Downing going to Euro 2012 as they hate both players.

I mean come on , Downing's record in the league this season as a midfielder/winger...36 games, 0 goals and 0 assists. So why should he go?

Have to agree with downing not going... to put it short - he is sh1t! Yet somehow manages to raise his game for england  :undecided: (seems to play marginally better on a larger pitch I have worked out)

Holt v Carrol?? Tough one to call... but as a manager I think he has gone with the safer option. Would i like to see Holt play for england? yes. However no one really know if he will deliver under huge pressure. Which is nothing against him as a player, but if he can do the same in the league this coming season then he should be a regular starter. IMO at the moment too much of a risk... and really should have been tried much earlier on to see how the glove fits.

To Carrols advantage, he seems to be playing a little better recently (I say a little because thats all it is). However its well known that when the boy is on form... he becomes almost unplayable.

As for micah richards.... well he just hasnt played enough this season is probably one of the reasons, and the fact that he would be playing next to JT the other

JT shouldn't be going full stop, but that is another argument!

As for Richards, got to disagree with you mate. He has played 29 games and 90% of them he started , add to that 1 goal and 5 assists, he really should go. If Downing can go with 0 goals and assists as a midfielder, then Richards should.

I can see where your coming from regarding Holt, but Holt has not only scored more than Carroll, but also more than Welbeck , Defoe and Sturridge, but all of them are going or on the standby list. He should be going instead of Welbeck imo.

I don't know, it just seems who ever is England manager they pick the same group of sh!t players no matter what. Why not try players such as Scott Sinclair or Nathan Dyer instead of players like Downing or Milner. Both had very good seasons with Swansea.

I can just see us going out the group stages to be honest with the squad he has picked

I have to agree pal... they are simply not good enough. Defoe who I like as a player has hardly played this season.. JT should not only not be going, but should be shot just for good measure.

Micah for me is worth taking and even playing at CB if need be.. but I imagine the not enough games is what effected RH choice.

IMO there is no need for Downing or milner in the side, or barry either. If I had to chose one of them it would be milner as his alround play is better. He is capable of crossing with both feet which I dont think any of the others can do bar Johnson.

I would have liked to have seen some of the Swansea players in the squad for sure..  Britton possibly or sinclair. At least these boys know how to play football!! The problem is if you cant hooff it up the pitch and out muscle someone you are not really england material.

Evern Joe cole would have been better than Downing. He has played consistently all season at least.

i dont think Woy has had the luxery of time to put this together, seemed out of the blue getting the job as the main man was thought to be Harry.

He hasnt had any training matches, or any friendlies to figure it out, i think it was a case of getting some old guard, some new blood and a few random ones out of thin air, stick them on a pitch and see what happens.

Think the Euro's is win win, no one expects us to do anything and we can hopefully build a decent team to do something at the next world cup.

PS Carroll is a waste of space, hope he does in an England shirt what he did in a Newcastle shirt though

Really doesn't matter who we take we still won't win

Instead now we have even less chance of winning  :lipsrsealed:

Duran Duran are to re-release one of their songs for the new England football team.

"His name is Rio and he watches from the stand."

Same old dogs imo. Absolute crap, and I agree with lots of the points already made.
Only thing I don't agree with, is everyones expectations! Everyone is hiding behind the "low expectations" quote, yet everyone will whinge like feck when England are dumped out of the competition in the group stage, and blame RH for being a crap manager, and picking a sh!t team, or the FA for taking so long in appointing a manager/appointing RH, and not giving him enough time to pick said crap team. No win situation yet everyone will expect them to do well cos they still have such a senior squad.  :undecided:

defoe is in the squad already

I wouldnt have taken crouch.. his style is not looked upin favourably by refs outside the UK.

rafa or pep would be my choice, but it looks like the owners have thier own ideas. Ian Ayre has been sacked also

I used to think o neil, but my cousin who is a keen villa supporter highlighted many of his flaws behind the scenes. I dont think he is the right man for the job.

half the problem is the expectation.. too many supporters in a sense. So if even a small minority disagree with choices made this can equate to large numbers. much depends on where the owners are sourcing their informaation from.  :undecided:

If I were Crouchy I'd be more interested in scoring with Abby every night!
