In my 1.6 I have to push the brake pedal quite far down before the car starts braking. The discs and pads are good and when it does start to brake the brakes are pritty good. Just wondering if I can adjust them so that I don't have to push the pedal down as far?
Cheers

are they new disc and pads? or you mite have air in the system! both these will cause ur brakeing to feel poor
-
Would suspect air in brake lines, faulty brake servo or even just a broken vacuum hose to brake servo
-
Na the pads were new at the start of the year and the discs are about year n half old.
-
So first thing would be bleed the system and see if that helps

dose it have drums on the back?

the Brake Wheel Cylinder inside the drum mite be f*kd and lettin air in the system take the drums off and look for brake fulid you nite have to pull the rubbers back to see any but if you find some replace them.

Are your brake shoes adjusted correctly ,they need to be just off binding ,if theres to bigger space between the shoes and the drum then your shoes will have to travel a bit before they make contact with the drum thus giving you excess pedal movement before your brakes work

Okay cheers. Will check the drums first as bees less of a ball ache then bleeding
