I ring VAG mate or go and see them then look on the screen myself or just get the part number off the old part if its not rusted to death :lipsrsealed:
What was you looking for Mr Singh?
-
There's a parts catalogue on http://www.vagcat.com/ which may be of some help. Pretty useful for part numbers. You need to register but takes 30 seconds.

Is it the one above?
The code is 037121010C for a 1990 clipper?
Found this from Rubjohnny might be worth typing those numbers into GSF?

Right thats the DX match, I suggest you either ring VAG quote my part number or ring euro carparts and ask for the original VAG number ?

PS ring another VAG garage if yours suck mate
All I did was start cross referencing a rivage clipper water pump then did load of searches and came up with part numbers simples?
Failing that I ring my VAG dealers?
-
okay brilliant! i think ill give another few garages a ring until one of them can help me. I jusy need the part number do you know where its located on the pump?
-
somewhere stampted on the body if its gen one! Its not big not many places it could be stampted?
Why don't you take it out open her up you might just need to replace the implela the housing should be still good?
-
it could be, clipperjay, whats your email address? i can forward you some pics of it and maybe you can see it too? it has 3 outlets on my one and majority im seeing only have the two pipe connections.. dam im stuck!

Problem it could be stampted on the reverse side i.e bolted side, but hey I've always used the engine code which is in your case DX.
Did you ring Euro carparts and get VAg numbers off them just say you want to make sure and can they give it to you over the phone?
I think the water pump will be the 16ver gti one same as mine a 1990 there is only two variants I remember and one had an extra outlet to the pipe linking to the oil filter cooling housing the other had a different water pipe that looped itself instead of the extra outlet pipe from the WP. Plus the pulley will be smaller on yours I'm guessing?
You should PM Guy on here he owned a rivage ask him he changed his one out also!

Okay brill ive just dropped him a message. Ill take a look when i get in from work where the three outlets are going and ill look on my 16v aswel to see if its the same one, if it is then i just need to order a 16v one even thats thats a KR and this is a DX...
-
Clipperjay - so ive taken a look,
the first hose goes towards the engine in between 3rd and 4th sparky
the second goes to the oil cooler
the third goes to the radiator
ive checked it against my 16v and its totally different one! and whilst ive been looking haven't seen one that has these three hose connections on it!
-
At this stage wait for Guy to reply or take out the old one and look for part numbers mate problem with a clipper esp 1990 you dont know if they used old new parts or upto date parts? Either way if its out you can keep housing and change internals or just take it direct to VAG for an exact match?
I had issues on my 89 where the cross over caused me issues in parts plus mine had a TSR short block with PAS yes on a 89!
The only other thing I know is some water pumps can be adapted to fit, but with different pipes BUT BEWARE SOMETIMES THE RUBBER PIPES COST MORE THAN THE PUMP! Hence I suggested you make sure you have correct water outlets and pulley sizes.
Not much more I can offer you unless you take it out mate?
Look like this one?
