Title: New Member, new owner of Mk2 16v, Scotland, advice required
Post by: Fac51 on 07 June 2005, 22:00
hi there folks ... just bought myself a Mk2 16valver which is gonna be an ongoing project .. its completely standard other than aftermarket alloys, anyhow just been in for its M.O.T and failed on the following:
front anti roll bar bushes worn
N/S front flexi brake pipe bulging
so... anyone out there know a decent supplier of parts and advice who can help me keep this vehicle looking like it just rolled off the production line?

local autofactors should be able to sort you out tbh mate, a new brake pipe is a couple of quid as for the bush not too sure on the price but shouldn't be too much, just going to be a pain replacing it.

hey firstly welcome and all that bollox... and with regards to the parts german swedish or euro car parts are a good bet or even source them on the net m8, when i replaced bushes i actually went for powerflex which made a massive differnce worth considering, and flexi hoses? treat it to sopme braided items and increase the brakeing potential!

enjoy your stay!

ok guys thanks for the replies ... have already checked out GSF and Eurocarparts(any idea why a right fog light is almost twice the price of a left? lol).. braided hoses a good idea, brakes and suspension probably the only thing i wont keep as original .....
cheers:
Rob

Welcome to the site. I'd have said ECP and GSF for bits too, in case you didn't know, if you order from ECP and speak to Stuart at the Leeds branch you will get 10% off for using this site (see deals and discounts section) and they usually deliver next day if they are in stock, it's a good service and I'd say everyone who's used Stu on here will vouch for that.  The discount is only valid at the Leeds branch by the way.
