are they gonna work exactly the same or gonna be out. ie, when the car is at 3000rpm the dials are reading 3500rpm or something like that.
anyone know?

you'll need to change the final drive on the gearbox end of the speedo cable
16v (160mph) clocks use the red drive
8v (140mph) use the white drive
dunno bout the rev counter, i assume it should work fine

Why do you want to put them in your car anyway? are you changing the engine and gearbox?

trying to gather funds for a 20v T and was told I'd need some 16v dials cos I'd be off the clock with the 8v ones.

I have someone sitting on my shoulder who is saying that it should not matter too much as the rev counter is displaying a pulse from the ignition, rather than a completely mechanical set up like the speedo.

ah ok. so the revs will sort themselves out while the speed would need setting up from the gearbox. I get it now :)
