Did somone say Blue
Gaz these little things are like baby golfs and the mk2 polo 1.3 carbs go like stink. trust me they are good for A-B driving and wiked on fuel consumption and also great for ragging the sh!t out of  You will be handbreaking it all over the place. they are just pure fun and jokes
as far as i know they do have common leak problems like rocker gaskets and water sometimes leaks on the heater fan and causes it to squeek
Just a smaller mk2 golf. Same common rust areas aswel. cant think of anything else to say
Enjoy

I had one of those Blue, it was my first car
The car Gaz is looking at is the mk3 polo(the next model), it is similar, but also has the improvement of vacuum servo assisted brakes

I'll be using mine as a daily runabout as from Thursday. Great, fun little car and as already said, basically a mini-golf. It feels really nippy and apparently should return at least 40mpg.
I bought mine for £75 and had to replace the rear box and handbrake cable to get it through the MOT. Since then I removed the rear number plate and surrounding trim and found some minor corrosion around there but nothing major and well nipped in the bud. Bottom of the A pillars aren't too clever and again I have nipped that in the bud but will need to do something more permenant in the future to make it look perfect..........if I can be arsed.

Check out www.Porka.net (http://www.Porka.net) for proper Polo action.
The Mk2/3 GT is quite popular over there.

I had one of these for over a year and it was the best car I have ever had, Much more reliable than my mk2 driver i've got at the moment. Injection so no starting probs, feels well nippy up to around 60 coz its got quite a short ratio box but does tend to whine a bit on the motorways but will still sit happily at 80/90. I had a H-reg GT, I can't realy say what to look out for because mine was mint, only reason I got rid was because I couldn't afford the insurance! The brakes are the bad point, they are pretty rubbish but you can replace the fronts with scirroco/g40 items which is supposed to make a huge difference. Handling can also be a bit rolly polly as standard but only a slight lowering sorts that out. In summary, I absolutely love these cars and if I got the chance i'd defo get one again. I had a silver one but imo, a metalic grey one is the one to go for, well nice colour!
