-
R32's have the brushed aluminum
-
 its not carbon effect either :embarassed: its what it says a net type pattern that can be sanded down to look like the r32 brushed ali trim as its all metal trim underneath and we all forget stuff from time to time dude

Thought so, I thought the brushed ali whole shabang was called net optic trim! :lipsrsealed:
-
It's mine
My dad had this in an old passat and I loved it
I'm just hoping the mark on the OBD cover is low enough to be hidden.
-
I've got silver net optic, not seen another car with it yet (probably as it's not meant for UK cars lol)
-
just sand it down as brushed ali and lacquer it up

Only PITA is the ashtray cover is only available as a LHD version so it looks like a tiny bit of it is missing when the cover it completely shut. But I can live with that

brushed ali?
or could just be the normal trim that someones sprayed with spray paint.
havent ever came across a mk4 standard with silver trim apart from the brushed ali from the r32
-
its solid grey plastic , same colour on rear , and a small chip shows its not paint.

and a view of the ashtray cover, you can just about see the missing bit

I don't have the handles for mine as I can't get the drivers side in silver net optic due to it being only for the LHD models
-
interesting. What are the handles like?
handles were still 'wood' trim. so it was defo not standard.
-
ahh. Yes that stuff above is defo net optic, called so because of the net pattern in black covering the metallic colour underneath.
-
aye I love it
-
part number on a bit of mine is 1j0853189 epe , but googling comes up with nothing ???
-
EPE doesn't seem to be a proper colour code, can you get a part number off the diagnostic cover?
-
how does it remove ? just pull off ?
-
yes just pull
There is an american website that sells all versions of the net optic that I saw on vw vortex a while ago. I will try and if nobody else beats me to it. Bloody expensive though..
-

EPE isn't a colour code, it's usually on a sticker which may have fallen off by now
