If it's an R32 engine then you're probably better off asking in the Mk4 or Mk5 section.
-
kool thanks, will give that a try.
-
Looks like someones been on an off road excursion ,my guess would be power steering pipes
-
Is it me or is the power steering pump missing.
-
yeah defo looks like the P.S pump is missing lol
-
just to clarify guys its a mk3 with a r32 engine swap, iv had it parked up for a while i upgraded all the brakes etc its been parked up for about a year now and i noticed that these pipes had come off!!???!!??
-
is looking like ps pump is missing mate an my be some one has nicked it or was justed missing when fitted???
-
Dude you have no power steering pump!
That belt should be attached to it, and so should those pipes!
-
ok so the two pipes are supposed to be connected to the ps pump?
the rubber pipe with the metal end on it and the thin metal pipe.
-
yep :undecided:
-
looking at the pictures you can see the bolt holes where the pump is supposed to be, also probably why the belt is hanging down like it is.
I'm guessing its not been driven since the swap?
-
would i be right in assuming you brought the car as an unfinished project?
-
it was running at one point and then i left it in the garage for about a year or two and to be honest i didnt bother with it, but im gonna get it running again now so i need to get all the pipes and wiring that are hanging off back together again and give it a good old service, the engines only got 40k on it, i think one of mates must have taken the pump come to think of it!! because he did take a couple of bits off the engine!
i just had a look at the pipes and it seems that one of the tops have snapped off so im gonna need to buy it!
thanks for all the help
much appreciated guys

I wouldn't mind seeing more pictures of this car, sounds interesting.
-
i will defo get some pics of it up once its ready!
mate do you know if the pas pump hoses are the same as the normal mk3 hoses?
-
£6grand is alot of bread mate, there are people on the forums who really want to know how much the conversion cost lol
I'd Love the r32 conversion, my experience of stealth is that there a bit pricey.
My mate nearly passed out when they told him is service cost for his vr6.....£400......
I think they charge if you spend a couple of hours there talking to them.
-
r32 is 4wd so its not that spectacular in a fwd car tbh, same performance can be had from a 1.8t you just dont get the noise :)
-
It's a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut agreed but it's a fairly rare conversion and worth more forum space.
-
oh yeah sure put up more info by all means, just saying what it is :) it would definitely be a labour of love thing though if money comes into the equation then its better to go for something else.
I wouldn't mind seeing some pics though :P

well im trying to get the car ready for GTI international, and i will also be making a small build thread too, just got alot of work to do yet!
