hi all my 2000 golf gti mk4 failed the mot today only on immisions co2 is ment to read 3 and mine was reading 13 lol any idea,s like common faults ???????
-
dead cat or lambda
-
you dont have an mot "friend" :lipsrsealed:
as said lambda sensor or you prob got it decated is it remapped as iv been told that throws up different readings too i never had prob with my previous AGU that was de- cated
-
Have you checked / scanned it for any codes.
-
put it on a diagnostics machine today came up with faulty lamba/slight missfire on more than 1 cylinder/temp sensor
-
Start with the temp sensor.
-
replaced it today £8.50 was going to change the lamba but it a f@?>er to get out
-
Not that hard if you know how ;)
Hammer the hell out of the area around the lambda (where the thread is in exhaust pipe) and then get your 21mm spanner and comes straight out.
-
took it to a local garage today just to see what the immisions was like after changing the temp sensor and it will pass now lmao just over a little sensor
-
Simple fix then! Saves £60-80 on a new lambda or £££'s on a cat.
