Just about to take the rear beam off but need to know what are the torques the bolts need doing up to so i dont go shreading any of the threads being over cautious!
I sm not looking forward to doing these bushes !
-
I'd help you but I'm sat waiting for a ferry at the mo lol
The bushes only take about half hour to beat out if you have the rear beam off the car, just done some on the spare beam I've got in the garden
-
Bushes are now out took about 5mins on the second one first took about half hour ..... I had the plastic ones not the metal sleeved ones which was usefull. How do i lone up the vrs ones ?
-
Can safely say that was a piece of piss !
Didnt have to disconnect brakes just removed calipers and supported them hole rear beam off first bush took about 20 mins of drilling hitting fire and general bastardisation then we relised they were the plastic sort so the second bush about 5 holes then one the took out part of the plastic outer and it basically fell out!
Putting them in we used a huge g clamp to get them a cm or so in the a couple of hits with a rubber mallet they were in ! Deffinitly a 2 man job we started at half 9 had the beam off and bushes out by 11 went and got the bushes and my mates new steering wheel untill half 12 ish finished at 3 and that was being very laid back about it could easily do it in 2/3 hours
this made a huge mess but was amusing watching it melt away minimal effort required
FIRE!!!!!!!

Look right? ...... Im not taking it off again lol
I was hoping the bushes would sort the obscurity of the beam but it never so il get it lined up at the mot ! Next to do is top mounts front/rear and all the wishbone bits then should feel nice and tight is it worth doing arb and droplinks the arbs were in good condition when i put the r32 one on and the droplinks are at such a crap angle i dont think it will matter
