Title: Bouncey coilys.
Post by: stainesy on 11 May 2012, 12:49
Ok FINALY got my new coilys fitted to my car.
Don't remember any of my last coilys being this Bouncey though.
Could it be as they are brand new coilys? I am used to 45 profile tyres and these are 50 so more bounce? Or are 3 doors lighter than the 5 doors I'm used to? Or a combination of all that?

Running it too low and it is sitting on the bumpstops would be my guess

Saw a Corsa on the way home with the front on the bump stops.

I thought it was a funny as feck... I obviously didn't control the look on my face as the driver clocked me... He didn't think it was that funny...

A nice moment after a hell of a day at work...

P.S. Sorry to hijack your thread... Did you check the spring rates? They should be about stock for working suspension - lowering needs stiffer shocks to reduce travel. If the spring rate is too high it will make the car 'bumpy'.

He's running coilovers not a shock/spring setup.

i would love to race legally. just wish i could afford to do it. used to meet up years ago and do street races around milton keynes from one side to the other but that was in a saphire cossie and an evo 4 and it was awesome at 3 in the morning on empty roads. (private road  :lipsrsealed: )
its all about the corners not the straits. anybody can go fast in a strait line thats all about the car. its cornering where you test your talent.
have destroyed many people in much fater cars on corner simply coz they dont get the right line and bottle out. one day i will find a decent job again and get on a track. cant beat that feeling. no drug or drink can top the feeling you get from holding it on the limit when you are in the zone.
