Hi guys, I have just bought a mk4 TDI Auto se the badge is all chrome, is this the 90bhp one? It is a 2001 Y palte
Car is nice, has a very good history but felt sluggish, I thought it needed a service, so I done a full service inc flush out.
Then I removed the egr and cleaned it including the inlet, the car had a new turbo in 2009.
I scanned it and no fault codes present, took it up the road and it never really felt any better :undecided: hills are the worst!
I looked again and found a few of the small pipes on the bulkhead were no good and one had came off its T piece so I thought I had found the problem, but if i put the pipe back on the car either cuts out or wont rev????
Please help! I know being an auto it wont win any races as such but surely I should feel a bit of power?
My 1990 1800 diesel mk4 escort van is quicker

Welcome along :afro:
First off the rear badge means absolutely nothing
Do you know what engine code your car is - it is on a little sticker by the spare wheel in the boot
The lack of power could be down to a few things, have you had it fault scanned?

Hi Neil, yes I have scanned it and it came up "NO CODES"
I will get the engine code in a minute

The Engine code is ALH :smug:

I have ordered an Allard egr delete, will this help? also would like to do the pipe simplify :)
-
You could do the simplification, it won't hurt.
Where does the blue silicone pipe run to?

The valve on the inlet fannimold
I had a bit of a sort out today, on my code reader and the snap-on ETHOS it came up no fault codes via basic obd scan, BUT if i went into manual vehicle selection with correct chassis code and engine code I got this

So after a bit of a look I noticed the MAF was a pattern cheap jobbie
So I got on the phone to vw and ordered one, within an hour I had it fitted, I re scanned it and "no codes present"
The other two codes stayed away, I took it up the road…….. well it is a different car, i could hear the turbo for the first time, and it goes really well now
But I still can't connect that damn pipe without it cutting out????? hmmmmm Any ideas?
Thank you
